Privacy Policy

Good Ramble (goodramble.com) is a realtime AI listener. This page explains what data we collect, what stays on your device, and how the two ways of using the app — BYOK and Hosted — differ. Questions go to support@goodramble.com.

What stays in your browser

Your chats, recordings and templates are stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB — never on our servers. You can export or delete them at any time from the app, and clearing your browser data deletes them too. If you turn on an optional local/offline model, that model also runs entirely in your browser.

BYOK mode

In BYOK (bring your own key) mode, your Deepgram and OpenAI API keys are stored in your browser's localStorage and never sent to us. The browser talks to Deepgram and OpenAI directly, using your keys. No account is needed, and we don't see your audio, transcripts, prompts or model output.

Hosted mode

In Hosted mode you sign in and pay through Autumn/Stripe for a plan. We store your account and session information, and your billing state, in our database (Cloudflare D1). Your audio is sent to Deepgram and your text to OpenAI through our metered proxies, which hold the provider keys so you don't need your own. We don't store or log the transcripts, audio, prompts or model output that pass through those proxies.

Sharing a chat

Sharing is opt-in and explicit. When you choose to share a chat, a copy of that chat (and any attachments) is uploaded to our server (Cloudflare D1/R2) and served at a public link. That link expires automatically after 30 days, and you can update or unshare it at any time before then. Anyone with the link can view it, so don't share anything you wouldn't want public.

Analytics

We use OpenPanel, a privacy-friendly product analytics tool, to understand how the app is used — things like which features get opened and how often. OpenPanel never receives your chat content, audio or transcripts.

MCP servers

If you configure optional MCP servers, requests to them pass through a stateless proxy on our side that holds no secrets and stores nothing.

Third-party processors

Depending on how you use the app, your data may pass through: Cloudflare (hosting), Deepgram (speech-to-text), OpenAI (model output), Stripe and Autumn (billing), and OpenPanel (analytics). Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
